On the night of 19/20 August, following evidence in a criminal case filed by the Bureau of Weapons, Explosives and Hazardous Substances, the police ordered the detention for 24 hours of a 40-year-old man from Matei commune. During today, August 20, he will be present to the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Beclean Court, for preventive arrest.

The man was spotted in the afternoon of August 19 by Special Action Service fighters shortly after firing a non-lethal pistol, towards a machine parked in the yard of a warehouse, within the Nuseni locality.

„From the investigations carried out, the police found that, on August 13, the man allegedly purchased from abroad the weapon and related ammunition, which he would have illegally introduced in Romania, owning them at home. The pistol in question falls into the category of non-lethal weapons, subject to authorization, and the man was not authorized to own, carry or use a weapon of the lethal or non-lethal category, subject to authorization.

At the same time, the gun, 2 magazines and 143 related cartridges were raised, in order to continue the research „, IPJ Bistrița-Năsăud transmits.
