The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) announces a series of warnings of Yellow Code and Orange Code of Heat. He also informed about the specific phenomena of atmospheric instability, depending on the areas.
Thus, during Friday, there will be an orange Code of heat and thermal discomfort accentuated in the low area of Caraş-Severin, Timiş and Arad counties. Temperatures of 38-39 degrees and isolated 40 degrees will be recorded frequently in these regions, and tonight they will not fall below 20-23 degrees.
Also, during Fridays and Saturdays, a Yellow Code of Heat is valid in 25 counties and in Bucharest. Thus in the western and southern regions, but it will also expand in western Transylvania, Maramureş, southern Moldova and the continental area of Dobrogea, the thermal discomfort will be high, and the temperature-moisture index (ITU) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units. The maximum temperatures will be between 33 and 37 degrees, and the lows will not fall below 18 – 21 degrees.
Meteorologists say that in the southeast of the country the thermal discomfort will continue to be high in the next period.
The counties targeted by this Yellow Code are: Alba, Argeş, Bihor, Brăila, Buzău, Cluj, Călăraşi, Constanţa, Dâmboviţa, Dolj, Gorj, Galaţi, Giurgiu, Hunedoara, Ialomiţa, Mehedinți, Maramureş, Olt, Prahova, Sălaj, Satu Mare, Tulcea, Teleorman, Vâlcea, Vrancea and Bucharest.
According to the specialized forecast, between August 20, 12:00 – August 22, at 10:00, a warning will come into force Yellow code of temporarily accentuated atmospheric instability and significant quantitative rains, targeting 21 counties. In these areas, there will be periods with accentuated atmospheric instability, first in Banat, Oltenia and in mountain areas, then expanding throughout the western half of the territory. At the same time, there will be torrential showers, electric discharges, wind intensifications and in some places storms and hail. In short intervals or by accumulation the quantities of water will exceed 25 – 40 l / sqm and in restricted areas 50 – 70 l / sqm.
The yellow code of unstable weather is valid for the counties: Alba, Argeş, Arad, Bihor, Bistriţa-Năsăud, Brasov, Cluj, Caraş-Severin, Dolj, Gorj, Hunedoara, Mehedinţi, Maramureş, Mureş, Olt, Sibiu, Sălaj, Satu Mare, Timiş, Teleorman and Vâlcea.
